Default How long for mini pill to work?

There's nothing on the information sheet, can't find anything on net. All I've read is take it at same time everyday, but no idea how long before you are "covered"

If you start the mini pill on the first one to five days of your period, it is effective immediately.
If you start it at any other time in your menstrual cycle, it will become effective after you have taken three pills in a row.

That was from the Family Planning Victoria website.

That's interesting - the pharmacist told me to use additional contraception for two weeks after starting the mini pill! Maybe he was just being cautious.

Well I'm breastfeeding and not even 3 weeks post partum, so hoping that gives me some extra protection!

Thanks, I've been on it before after my son was born and it didn't hurt my supply. I just couldn't remember and definitely didn't feel like having sex this early after having him
