Default Recommend me a vacuum cleaner

Hi ladies, I'm in the market for a new vacuum cleaner. There are so many different types and models. I have a split level house with three levels so a few stairs. Carpet is upstairs and Lino wooden floors downstairs. I need something with a long chord so I can do one level without having to change the power point and something that's easy to move up and down stairs. I'd prefer bagless as well. Any recommendations would be most appreciated. Thankyou

I just replaced my Dyson with a Miele and I'm so happy with it. It's not bagless, but the research I've done shows that bagged machines have better suction (nice marketing Dyson!).

Having compared it again to my old Dyson this week (which went to live with my husband while he commutes) the Miele is much better, and it was also about 1/3 of the price

How is the chord length on them? Are they generally light?

We have a Dyson and it's pretty good. Have you looked up the productreview.com.au website?

I love my Dyson. I have a dog that sheds A LOT and every other vacuum I have owned has struggled to pick up his fur, but the Dyson does it no worries. We have tiles, carpet & floor boards and does all really well. I think the chord length is pretty standard for vacuums though.

Can you please tell me the model you have? I need a heavy duty "dog" vacuum!

I have a sauber. It's ok, as in it does the job but i'm not sure it's worth the $1600 i paid for it.
It has a long chord as i use to live in a split level house and it would do one level easily from a single power point. I did find it a massive PITA to lug up the stairs though.
It has bags and hospital grade filters. It's meant to be ideal for people with asthma, allergies, pets, etc.. Doesn't seem to help my dust allergy though
It comes with a turbo head that's meant to get deep into the carpet.

Most people seem to recommend dysons so i think i would probably go with one of those next time.

Pretty sure it's the DC29 multi floor. I got the turbine head for it and it does an amazing job getting the fur. And my dogs fur sticks to everything!!

This. I've had 2 dysons and 2 hand held dysons but going to replace with a Miele in the next year or 2.
