We have the 8/4kg LG washer dryer combo and it has been an absolute workhorse. I can't fault it.

It also has a cool steam function.
Its just out of warranty now. We've had someone out three times for the same problem (AE error I think) and the last time the technician said to use less powder, already do, still does it! I'll get dp to check for anything blocking it.

    Thanks for the advice :-)

Probably makes this washer sound bad but I promise apart from my issues they are really good!

It's actually more water efficient than the front loader and much quicker wash times. There is 6 of us (2 adults, 1 teen, 5 year old, 2 year old, and 4 month old plus a house mate for several months) and it easily fits everything in, even our big blankets etc that never for in the front loader.

ETA; I have never had the "crunchy" clothes problem with the top loader- with the front loader I ended up using fabric softener, but don't need to with the front loader.
Is this the washing machine Samsung Model Number: SW75V9WIP ? I'm considering getting this model.

We just replaced our Samsung front loader with an LG. it was 2-3 years old and in that time the door lock went, the drain pump went and then the whole board and wiring system. We spent more on repairs than it cost and even then it was going to cost another $700 to fix. The guy at Harvey Norman then advised to stay away from them!

The Samsung repair guy said that no matter which machine I got I replace it, get an extended warranty because washers just aren't made to last the time they used to be.

Hmm, might call LG. Hopefully since they can see it's an on going problem for us they'll cover someone looking at it or fixing it.

You can google instructions to check whether there are any blockages in the drain - once we determined there weren't any blockages in ours we called a repairman and he changed the pump for us in about 10 mins.

It has worked like a dream since. Ours was out of warranty as well.

Thanks everyone. I think we will get the Samsung. It's so hard to decide as everyone has a favorite. And nearly every review I read has good and negative feedback.

We have a Fisher and Paykel 8kg AquaSmart machine.

We've had it six years with not even a slight issue.

No crunchy clothes at all either!
