Default What's the cost of your water bill?

How many people live and use water in your house?

    How long are your showers?

How often do you do the clothes washing?

    Dishwasher or sink?

What is your average daily consumption?

How often do you use extra water; by extra water I mean things like washing the cars or dog, watering the garden, filling up kiddie pool etc?

And how often is your bill cycle?

We are renting and pay full water consumption, we seem to get a bill every 3 months.
Really looking on ways to save water.
2 adults, 1 child in the house and we already try hard to save water!!
But we are still above the average for our area and family size.
We have no leaky pipes/taps and everything has water saving devices attached.
The only thing I can think of is our showers aren't short, we have 1 a day each and they go for aprox 20-25 mins!! Really didn't think I was in the shower for THAT long so now I'm going to keep the shower time down.
We also use the hose a bit to water plants, fill up clam pool, wash down the out door patio.
At one point we were re-using dd's bath water on plants and the car but we stopped doing it after not seeing any real drop in water bills..
But every little bit counts right?

If you can share any more water saving tips I'm all ears

I rent so just pay the consumption. All bills so far have been around $75 for the quarter. All houses i've lived in have had leaky pipes or even a busted pipe at one stage and the bills have stayed around the same figure.

How many people live and use water in your house? 1 adult and 2 kids.

How long are your showers? probably 10-15 minutes on average.

How often do you do the clothes washing? Every 1-2 days and usually do a few loads each day on the weekend.

Dishwasher or sink? Sink, I've never had the luxury of having a dishwasher

What is your average daily consumption? I've dug up an old bill and it was 0.32 KL

How often do you use extra water; by extra water I mean things like washing the cars or dog, watering the garden, filling up kiddie pool etc?

I wash out my ferret cages at least 2 times a week with the hose, i water plants in pots and it's pretty rare that i've washed my car at home.

And how often is your bill cycle? Every 3 months.

I'm starting to think we will soon be like Jane and d!ck from fun with d!ck and Jane, standing out the front of neighbors yards to wash off under the sprinkler..
That's pretty much the same as our bills!

    Thank you for all that
Gives me an idea on what to aim for.
I can't find one of our old bills to see how much our daily usage is.
I'm writing down the water meter tomorrow morning and then 24 hours later I'm writing it down again so I can know just how much we are using

Approx $250/qtr for 2 adults, 4yo and baby. Maybe a bit more now as I wash a lot of nappies.

I haven't found the consumption makes a lot of difference to our bill as a lot of it seems to be access charges.

We were careful during drought but post jan 11 brusbane floods, we have been taking long showers again, plus my son has a bit of water play, dishwasher, lots of washing, nit heaps of outdoor watering though.
