Default How did you choose your wedding 'theme'

As the title states did you choose a theme? As in colours etc and why?

We want something small so we can spend more on the things we want too Thank you!

Just looked at wedding pictures of others and chose colours that really grabbed my attention. From there just picked out things that I (we) liked that represented who we were.

Our favourite colours are green and purple so we went with that

My dress is a gorgeous deep purple and something simple I can wear again

Look through some wedding magazines for some inspiration. We liked the vintage look so went for dusky pink, latte and cream colours but added a sweet brighter pink as well as the florist said that would add to the day and especially photos otherwise it would be too muted. Speak to a good florist and photographer and they might be able to give some good ideas.

We knew we didn't want anything too formal and chose a reception venue out in the bush. Both my husband and I love Australian/South African natives - proteas, kangaroo paw, gum leaves, gum nuts, blushing bride. So cream, green, brown and pale pink quickly became a theme.

Just think about things that you love - maybe a flower, hobby, country/location or clothing. You will find something that feels just right.

If you are trying to keep costs down, you might want to make your own invites like we did. Find a good paper supplier and there might be some colours or patterns available that set a theme for you.

    Good luck!

We wrote down what we wanted in the day and for us classic and elegant . We did some research and came up so our theme was black, white and silver

I did black & white because it is classic & tasteful. I do like colours though too, but I found the black & white was really easy to coordinate.

Oh I love black and white so they were our colours with a splash of yellow, not much just invites and the boys ties.
