Kinberleygal, I think that's incorrect. I don't think it starts in Year One, but in pre-primary for WA.

That's how i read it as well.

I claimed it when my DS was in prep in QLD as well. pre primary would be the equivalent.

I just had a look at the Ed website for WA (i'm a qld teacher so I was curious at how they do it in WA) but according to this, pre-primary IS like prep and is the first full time year in WA and prepares the children for Year One.
Year One is not called pre-primary.

Ummm.... Pre-primary is not Year 1 in WA. They are different years of schooling entirely. Kindergarten is not compulsory. Pre-primary is, as are Years 1-12.

To make it as clear as possible: children in WA start non-compulsory schooling at kindergarten. They then start compulsory schooling in Pre-primary. Then they go into Year 1. Then Year 2. Can I stop now?

Can anyone tell me if it has gone in with your normal ftb payment, or did it go in separately on a different day? Still not showing on online services for me...

Kimberleygal you need to go back and read your own quote, 2 states call what we call preprimary in WA Kindergarten! So they do get it in 'kindy'..

In the ACT and NSW Kindergarten is the first year of compulsory education. Pre-school comes the year before Kindergarten (or two years before depending on the program) and is not compulsory.
I know that but I have been talking about WA the entire time.. not other states
