2 people have posted the chart previously on this thread that says clearly that Kindergarten children DO NOT get the payment, from YEAR 1 only. So for those who think they will be receiving for their children that are not in year 1 are not entitled to the payment and shouldn't be receiving it according to that fact sheet and was also verified by the customer service officer when I rang. So if you think you are going to get the payment something is wrong somewhere.
It says "pre-primary (years 1-7)" so that indicates to me that if you have a child enrolled in pre-primary that you will receive it (if eligible).

That's the table I was looking at too. So if you are in WA, it's pre-primary and not year one.

I wish they all used the same names in each state

I think that because it's called different things in different states, it's causing a lot of confusion.
My DS is going to be in Kindergarten in NSW this year and i'm getting it for him.

Kinberleygal, I think that's incorrect. I don't think it starts in Year One, but in pre-primary for WA.

Pre-primary is year one? I really didn't know that. I assumed pre-primary was like preschool/prep and year one was well, year one lol!

In the ACT and NSW Kindergarten is the first year of compulsory education. Pre-school comes the year before Kindergarten (or two years before depending on the program) and is not compulsory.
