I am also making a dentist appointment. Have been putting that off for a few years now..... Not good. The prenatal vitamins I have been taking for a while and I eat healthy and exercise. I actually had to cut back a little on my exercise recently as it was messing up my cycle a little. Anything else I should be doing? I know I need to cut back on/cut out the caffeine....
How are you going with cutting out caffeine?? I unfriended that nasty a month ago

I have no advice RE pregnancy check ups but best of luck

Still no AF here, it's now umm I've lost track how late. 12-13 days I think.

Haven't done a hpt since thurs. Test at doctors was negative.

I had a blood test yesterday. I am very nervous to see what it says. Nervous enough I almost feel sick.

I've tried slow release metformin, with no luck. Gets so frustrating. Fertility specialist today said that there isn't really any alternatives to it, and depending on my insulin results I might just have to put up with it. But I'm really not sure how I'm going to do that...

Went to specialist this morning. He has sent me for more blood tests. Of course they are fasting ones. AND the girl I get to do my bloods isn't in til 11 tomorrow Guess who's gonna be really hungry!!! He said he doesn't prescribe clomid now, he uses letrozole. Anyone had experiences with that one? I'm going to have to google.

LifeInShadesOfGrey - that SUCKS - it's better to know one way or another rather than be left in limbo! Hope that your bloods give some results.

Default Re: 2013...The year of BFP's!

I multi on my phone. I hold down until the bar with reply, quote, multi, modify etc comes up, click multi, then you just have to tap on the ones you want to quote mine change colour, then hit quote up the top.

As for metformin/pcos, after my mc, the obgyn asked if I had it (I didn't even know what it was!) He done some general health tests (liver function, vitamin do, thyroid, cholesterol etc) and the 2 hour glucose test.

Everything came back fine, except the 1 hour glucose reading. (6, 11.?, 5) so he said my body has some issues with insulin, and prescribed metformin. Now, I've always had predictable af, (used to come 28 days after she stopped so cycles roughly 5 weeks.) I am overweight though, and seem to have acne issues with certain times in my cycle.
he also told me I shouldn't ttc and to lose weight, he thought I "might have pcos" and don't ovulate regularly, but said the metformin would sort that out if that was my problem (talk about mixed messages) he wasnt very nice and I left in tears.

When I got my bfp with ds. shortly after, I seen my regular gp as I wasn't sure about taking metformin if pregnant.... He checked the results from the tests and flipped out, even called the diabetic specialist who said I didn't need it, so I stopped. I will say though, never in my life had I seen so much ewcm on the tp as I did that month! Lol

Now, after having ds. I had a horrible time trying to breast feed, I just did not have enough milk no mater what I done, I seen 3 different obgyns and a lactation consultant and all asked if I have pcos as it may have explained my problems with bf. It never established, even with herbal suppliments and prescription meds, extra feeds and expressing....

When ds was 6mnths old, I wasnt feeling right so seen my gp, and he discovered hypothyroidism!

So, it seems I have "some" issues that fit pcos... Oh, my gtt with ds. at 28 weeks was perfect!

Lifeinshadesofgrey - I hope she shows up soon or you get a bfp. Not knowing is the worst!

That's no good about your experiences shadowangel - pcos can sometimes be a difficult diagnosis to make/rule out especially if you only have some of the symptoms. Glad you have found a dr who seems to be all over it now tho

I'm afraid I might have pcos or something else wrong...although getting someone to test for it is hard...I am thin, no excess body hair but I did have terrible acne when I was a teen which is why I went on the type of pill that I did. My cycles are still very irregular and I've been getting really light AF since coming off the pill which is strange.

I have just ordered some opk's and DH are going to go the the dr's in a month to get us both checked out. Yay for action!!

Still waiting on AF...expected her over the weekend, but nothing.

This is what i did - I have reduced my caffeine to 1 grande Starbucks in the morning and doc said I could continue with that. At my pre ttc check up I got a Pap smear bloods done to check my vitamin d, immunity to rubella, my iron levels, immunity to chicken pox, heb b immunity and I think that was it. When I went back to get the results she gave me a whooping cough vaccine and dh will get one when bubs is born. Dh came with me to the pre ttc check up and she checked his blood pressure and took bloods for his iron, vitamin d, immunity to chicken pox, and hep b. you need to start talking folate and iodine 3 months or so before you start to ttc and then for the first trimester once your utd. When your at the doc ask about pre natal vitamins, mine said they are a waste of money so I don't take them (only the blackmores i-folate). It's an exciting time your pre check up as your one step closer!

But how do you know how much you will be paying out of pocket? Do you tell them when you book an appointment that you are insured?
jump on to the bupa website and it should show you a list of preferred healthcare providers. I know with me when I go to the dentist or anything like that they swipe my card and I don't pay anything, at the physio I only pay $22 of the full $80 amount. You should be able to log into your account online and it will tell you what you are covered for and how much cover you have. You shouldn't need to tell them you have insurance as most people who go to dentists have it and they will just swipe your card when you get there.

It looks bloody ridiculous!! I still have a faint black line down my belly almost two years later, but I didn't get any stretch marks!? So yay! I wonder what will happen this time around?

Also, Disney, I think u asked? I got a bfp in the evening with dd, I think AF was due that day but can't quite remember! I tested with my dh, he didn't watch me poas but came into the bathroom to check the results with me. We hugged, cried and then started going "oh s*it"!!!
your hair falls out when you are utd??????? Did your areolas go back to normal?? Oh my gosh that's so random the things that happen!! I envision that our testing day will go along the lines of yours. That's if I can hold out! I'm getting edgy, I even unwrapped the hpt whilst sitting on the loo then thought NO ! BACK AWAY FROM THE TEST!

Yes!! It's so weird! They aren't sensitive just really sore if they move, I'm thinking I might have to wear a bra to bed to help keep them still!
