Default Catchment Areas - South Brisbane

Hi all. A friend has told me to book in very early for the hospital I will choose to birth in. Clearly I would love Mater public or RBWH but that is unlikely considering I live in Springwood.

Can anyone tell me the hospitals I may be eligible for? I could go private but want to save the "gap" payments I would make for other things. Thank you.

    Logan Hospital or Ipswich Hospital.

If you really want to go to Mater or the RBWH there's no harm in getting your doctor to send you a referral to them. The worse they can do is say no.

I live in Ipswich and asked my Dr to send my referral to the mater and got in

    Good luck!

You'd go to Logan unless for some special reason they thought you should go the Mater. You could try sending a referral there just to see if you'd get in??

Do they ask for evidence of your postal address at all? If it's that easy wouldn't everyone do it? Thanks ladies. Might have to persuade the dr to pull out her referral pad....
