Default Need tips! Toddler won't let me shower:(

My DD doesn't nap and I sometimes like to get all the housework done then have a shower. She refuses to ever go in the shower with me so I get a basin of water and some of her toys and sit her on a towel in the bathroom and ask her to wash her toys/give them a bath. Keeps her in my eyesight and gives me some peace!

My dd is the same....I have to shower with her. I have a whole heap of toys for her to play with plus a few of those suction non slip shapes-she likes to stick them on the glass, then on the floor, the back on the glass.

Sometimes I will set her up watching playschool in the lounge and sneak off, but I need to quick otherwise she climbs in fully clothed!

If I let DD shower with me she wants to climb up to breastfeed and neither of us get anything done! I've started just holding the door closed when she trys to open it and starting to play a game instead, usually kissing through the screen. Now she doesn't even try and open the door, she comes to play games instead, then toddles off again. Means I have to stop every minute to play a game though!

Do you have a bath? I have put DD in the bath with toys before (empty of course).

Ok looks like I have to take her in with me and accept it rather than get mad! I really didn't want to because seriously girls I'm so clumsy what if I stack it. I can't shower before she wakes she wakes at 5:30am I'm already a zombie, there's no bath in there and the bathroom is so tiny!

Biscotti I might try some new toys to.

It's only when DH is away hey why are things easy when he's here! She is so clingy when he's gone when he's here she's all over him and I'm just a food and drink machine!

This fly in fly out thing is hard at times!
Ok I just have to suck it up! Thanks xx

I like the highchair idea! Also I shut the door of the bathroom, put some toys on the floor and when I shower and hold the door of the shower closed when DS tries to open it.

Not much help here - but my DH also works away - 4 weeks on and 4 weeks off... It can get tough... My 5yo DD still showers with me when he is not home... 😏 although being 34w pregnant there isn't much room left to have us both in there!

If I can manage with 3 children in my shower with me you can manage with one I'm sure grab one of those non-slip mat and take your time.

(I find my DD who is 16mths loves slapping the bubbles I wipe on the walls off).

LoCo I feel your pain, my DS is 16mths too and is the same now.

I'm also not interested in getting up at 5.30 just to have a shower, or wait until lunch when he goes to sleep.

ATM, he is happy being entertained with a big box of cotton buds! He loves tipping them all out and putting them all back in etc Otherwise I let him play in my 'hair' draw, my brushes, ties etc that are all safe, but usually a 'no go zone'. So he thinks he has won a battle IYKWIM. Keeps him entertained long enough for me to shower on my own.
