Default anyone flown with tiger airways??

No experience with Tiger but Jetstar have changed the flight times for each of the two flights I have booked with them, by quite a few hours each. Was a PITA both times. This is going back a couple of years tho.

I flew with them quite a lot from Adelaide to Melbourne in 2010/11, never had any problems. Would only cost me about $30 or $40. The only thing I hated was walking that long walk to Melbourne terminal in the freezing Melbourne weather, yuck!

    Maybe we are just unlucky!

OP - I wouldn't fly Tiger just on the basis of all the reviews available on the net
Same it's probably only on the international, NZ and Perth-east coast flights that they have this. Just flew with them on the weekend and there was just the jetstar mag in the back pocket, same as virgin. But an 1.5 hour flight.... It's really just the same as taking a train to work, just more expensive!!!

personally I wouldn't fly tiger as they've already been shut down once for safety issues last year, so I wouldn't trust their maintenance etc.

I flew Tiger once and swore I would always pay the extra to go Jetstar in future. While my flight wasn't actually cancelled, it was a complete debacle. The line to get through security took 45 minutes. It was chaos. No staff anywhere. I didn't know if I was going to make my flight because I was standing in the line. Turned out my flight was delayed by an hour but I had no idea, there was not a single announcement, no information, no indication of anything, I just happened to fluke my way onto the correct flight.

The ex booked a Syd-Mel flight with Tiger. Turned up at the terminal to be told the flight he had booked didn't exist. Turned out they had been testing the online booking system and put some fake "test" flights on, and allowed people to actually book them! They were unapologetic as well.

Oh but in saying positive things about Tiger, I would definitely prefer Jetstar!

Default anyone flown with tiger airways??

Based on three experiences with Jetstar, I'd sooner walk to my destination than fly with them again.

If you actually need to get to where you are going ie wedding THEN DO NOT FLY TIGER. If you are just taking a weekend flight and nothing booked and you don't mind if your delayed or cancelled then give them a go. Jetstar have lifted their game in terms of on time departure.

I had family fly tiger the day before my wedding.

Their flights were 10am, they arrived at 10pm after their tiger flight was cancelled & they paid for new tickets with another airline.

    Do NOT fly tiger😱

Default Re: anyone flown with tiger airways??

righto thanks for the replies ladies I've decided to go jetstar it's only a 4 dollar price difference anyway this will be my first time flying alone with dd and I'm pretty freaked out about it, don't need the added stress I might get with tiger. one more question, when we were looking it said you can pay extra to pick your seats otherwise they can't guarantee seats together but surely they wouldn't separate me and my 2 yr old dd??? I've only been on a plane twice before so dont really know the ins and outs. sorry if it's a stupid question.

No don't stress, you don't need to pick your seats, they will definitely keep you and your DD together.
