We've been TTC #2 for a year now. In that time we've had two pregnancies (1 partial molar and a chemical) so technically at least DH's swimmers are swimming and I'm ovulating so it may just be a matter of waiting for the right egg and sperm combo. It took us 4 cycles to conceive #1 then second month of trying was the partial molar which required a D&C in April then we had to stop trying for several months. First month (August) of TTC again I had a chemical pregnancy and since then another 5 cycles with no luck. I have shortish cycles of 25-27 days and a luteal phase of about 13 days. I've started OPK and temping so am sure I'm ovulating. I'm almost 35 and DH is 40. CD1 for me again today so I'm thinking I'll head to my GP to see what she suggests. Can anyone please advise what tests I should get done and when (in my cycle) they will need to be done? TIA
I'm thinking these (any others???):
DH-sperm morphology and motility and anything else they look for (would he need his own GP appointment or should he just come along to mine?)
Me-Progesterone levels to check I'm ovulating (which I'm sure I am). Could I still be ovulating and have low progesterone? Would that prevent implantation or anything? Should I think about pessaries?
-AMH (anti-mulerian (sp?) hormone) I've had a couple of friends have this done and got really low scores, one then got pregnant second month of trying and the other one took about 6 months so not sure if it's worth doing or not???
Probably won't bother going to a FS as yet but for future reference what other tests would they do? Would I be offered clomid even if I'm ovulating and does that increase the chances of multiples even at a low dose?
Any info would be handy. I can't help but think in the back of my mind that after the D&C something has gone wrong and now I can't get a bubbo to stick! More likely of course we're just a bit older and things take time.
