When I'm trying to lose weight I cut right back on the carbs and eat more protein and fresh fruit and veg and I have a handful of nuts (not peanuts) for a snack.
I also drink a large glass of water before each meal so I don't eat as much.
For example for breakie I'd have 2 eggs and some lean short cut bacon with some avocado and a piece of fruit.
Lunch would be either steamed veggies or salad with fish or chicken.
Dinner would be a lean steak or chicken breast with steamed veg or salad.
I did follow the paleo diet for a while and lost a ton of weight but I do find it a bit restrictive and it's not really practical now as dp is a type 1 diabetic so he needs carbs.
