    Default Camping must haves!!

We leave this weekend for 8 days camping, just DH, DS and myself, it's our first holiday together!

We will be at unpowered camp sites that have facilities.

It's been a while since I camped and I'm wondering what are the things I need but could very easily forget?? Things which will make it easy for all of us, DS is 1 in 2 weeks.

    TIA!

Best thing I ever did was take some cord and pegs and string it between trees. If you go swimming you can hang up towels and swimmers :-)

I would recommend a bucket big enough to sit your toddler in. That way he can have fun splashing away while you and dh can sit close by and relax!

Absolutely cord and pegs. Plenty of spare bags ziplock bags etc too they just always get used.

We put a block of soap into a stocking and tie to the tap at our camp site or hang off our tent to take to wash hands etc

We always take out weber gas BBQ camping and make pizzas roasts breakfast toast etc on it it's fabulous.

I take spare sheets and towels and leave in the car incase of accidents rain etc.

First aid kit! Sunscreen, bite cream, for some reason I eat sweets camping and normally never do fruit cake any cake biscuit lollies!! Very strange!

    Cheap thongs to shower in.
Bug repellent. Last time I went camping we took the insert of one of our outdoor tiki torch things, filled it with citronella and lit it just outside our tent (safely) so the bugs stayed away while we sat around.

We bought some camp showers. Basically they are a bag that you fill with water and it has a hose and shower head on the end. One side is black and you sit the full bags in the sun to warm up. Then you string them up a tree and presto, nice warm shower.
