Yes baby is engaged and has been for a while. He said my cervix was soft, but he also said it was 'toward the back' whatever that means. He didn't say how dilated I was, but considering I was 3cm dialated at 38 weeks with all 3 of my previous pregnancies I would say its the same...He just said he had succesfully performed the stretch and sweep and he would break my waters next Tuesday if nothing happened... I have been having cramps since then but they feel much more like need to go to toilet cramps than contractions. Baby is moving ALOT and pushing on my cervix...

Oh I'm so sorry. Can you go and get some acupuncture done and drink a labour tonic?? Try everything! Good luck.

Nope he has already had 6 weeks off as the crane on the barge was broken. Before the crane broke he put in for leave from 5th to 12th April, he told me it had been approved, and I just asked him was it approved in writing and apparently no it wasn't. Stupid me for not making sure he got it in writing. So they told him either get on the plane of say goodbye to your job. Which would be very tempting if we weren't already through all of our savings because he had the last 6 weeks off.
I asked the dr Yesterday if I could just have a C-section, but he wanted to leave it as last resort, so after I have my waters broken next week (the day before he leaves).
Tried walking, sex, spicy food, castor oil, bouncing on fit ball, nipple stimulation. Nothing works! In fact i was having more contractions last week when I wasn't trying anything than I am now.
Haven't tried acupuncture, will they do it if I just walk in off the street?

Ok he has managed to get 6 days paternity leave, and they are considering time already taken off as personal leave. So that brings him to the 10th. I'm really hoping bub comes before Wednesday and I don't end up needing a C-section

Steph when is hubby due to fly out and back in now? You aren't full term yet and I know my bub wasn't going ANYWHERE until she was ready at 40 weeks. I know how important it is for your hubby to be there, mine works 4 hrs away and I was stressed about this too. But I was determined to avoid a c section, and I'm just wondering if your doc breaks your waters before your bub is ready if you will end up having to need a c section again.

Hubby Flys out on 10th April and back in on 2nd of May.
Yes i am prepared for a C-section infact i asked for one last week, but he refused. Only problem is I will have to recover at home with 4 kids and with no help but I really want hubby to be there not only for the birth but for a few days at home to help me settle in. Ob is now seeing me on Wednesday to assess if I can have an ARM, and if I can he'll book me into hospital either same or next day, and if that doesn't work it will be a C-section so it is cutting it really close...
It has been 49 hours since membrane sweep and it hasn't worked
