Default TTC 12 months + Chat

    Hi Ladies,

I joined this site about a month ago and have just found a thread that (unfortunately) I can join.

I am 33 and my husband is 35. This month marks our twelfth cycle of ttc our first. I had bloods done a few months ago and all was ok. He keeps saying he should get checked out but so far hasn't done so. I know it is a big deal for men and I am hoping he does it on his own accord but I feel I am going to have to push him. I also lost weight, 13 kilos, but have put 3 back on.

I'm glad I have found somewhere to vent with others who understand but sorry you are all in the same boat with me.

Default TTC 12 months + Chat

Hi everyone, I'd love to join in too. We've hit the 12 month mark ttc our first this week unfortunately. It will be nice to chat with others who understand - I'd be lying if I said I didn't get a bit upset seeing others complain in other threads about waiting for three months. But I have to remind myself that everyone's journey is different.
I got diagnosed with pcos in September and have done two rounds of clomid and one iui so far with no luck. I'm on a break this month because my dates would have fallen in the holiday break and my FS likes to monitor with ultrasounds. Opks haven't shown any ovulation yet and I'm cd21 so I have a feeling I'll be out of luck this month. Good luck everyone!

    Welcome all!

Ljjies - i remember your thread. how did the FS appt go? Have the injections helped with your OV? Fx they help speed up your journey.

Star - that's an awesome weightloss! Do you reckon youll tey to hit your target weight before seeing someone? I managed to put on like 3kg just over Xmas so desperate to get it off now!

Tormy - good luck with the lap, fx it kick starts your body into falling pregnant!

Marley155 - what bloods did you get? My doc took sooo many from me! It can be a bit frustrating when they find nothing cause it makes you wonder why it hasn't happened yet! At least if there was something they could try to help fix it! My DH has had 2 tests now (ideally they like 3) and its really no big deal. Hopefully your DH will go soon. Maybe he's just worried that its his sperm that are stopping you?

Miss trouble - tell me about it with the 3 months thing! It does upset me but then I think about the ladies that have been trying even longer than me and they must be feeling :-( I OVd on cd27 last cycle so don't give up hope!

Afm - I bought myself a pedometer so I'm aiming for 10,000 steps a day now. Also signed up to my old wedding diets tracker cause it helped me drop loads a couple of years ago.

Went ok. He said there is some growth but still small. So I have to go back on Thursday. Fx it'll be ready then and I can get the trigger. But I have no idea how long it might take.

I asked him how many cycles he would recommend we continue, as I've been wondering if we will end up having to look into IVF. He said 3 or 4 more. So Fx it'll work before then.

You were right to not give up hope yet ladidah - beautiful positive opk today (on both my ic and clearblue digital - I kept second guessing the ic). Now lots of bd'ing. It's our wedding anniversary on Tuesday so nice timing!
Good luck ljjies for Thursday - I hope the follicle behaves for you. I always find the waiting frustrating. And lots of babydust to everyone!

Tormy - fx for 2 follies!!!!! Sounds really promising!!!!! I really really hope you dont need the lap

Misstrouble - fx you catch the eggy this. I agree with the 3 month thing, thats partly why I started this thread. I find it hard when people complain about not getting utd in the first couple of months when we have been trying for so long. But I try to remember too that we are all different and on our own journey. I guess I was prepared for it to take a long time so it didnt upset me at first.

Star - great weightloss!! Awesome work!

Ladidhah - how are you going with the pedometer??

Ijjies - I hope your follies have grown by thurs ready for trigger. Fx that you wont need to progress to IVF

Had a funeral to go to yesterday and a family member who I havent seen in a while asked me when DD is going to get a sibling because she is "old enough now" and "needs one". GRRRRRRR. At a funeral of all places..

Just did an OPK and got a really strong positive, woohoo looks like my body might finally be sorting itself out!!!

    Hi ladies!

Thought I might join in, DP and I are TTC #2 for almost 12 months now, DS was a surprise that happened while on the pill and taking antibiotics, so needless to say the fact that we are trying and its not happening is getting the better of me. Especially seeing as EVERYONE seems to be getting pregnant.
We are going to continue trying as we have been for a couple more months and then we will be going to a GP to see whats happening.
    Hopefully 2013 is our year

I dont think they will ask me to hit my target weight, but I think they will expect me to get into my "healthy weight range". Im just gonna keep cruising along. We have organized our move! YAY!

We move the weekend after next back to Brissy. And DF got his transfer so everything is falling into place nicely! Hopefully I will get a BFP by February!

Geez some people have no idea!! Oh well. One thing all this ttc has taught me is not to ask people when they are having a baby!!!!!

Im back to the FS next Monday. Bring it on, Im sick of limbo-land!!

Starflame - great news about your move and transfer! Fx you will get your BFP by Feb

    Hi

I was wondering if I could please join too.

A bit about me...I am 38 and have a charming DS who is 2 years old. We were lucky to get him on the third cycle without any intervention or even poas (except for when I got my bfp). Since having him, I've found out we were sooooo lucky because I have recently been diagnosed with PCOS and have been TTC #2 for 11 months now. Am on my 3rd round of clomid (with a Pregnyl trigger), 14 DPO and just tested today and got a BFN. I suspect that AF might be delayed as a result of the progesterone pessaries I was put on since ovulation on this round. Anyone have any experience with these? My regular FS was away over Christmas so they were prescribed by his stand in. I thought this was weird because I've never had a blood test done while on Clomid so not sure why he thought my progesterone levels were low.

Having been doing ok so far but feel like I'm coming a bit unstuck now with the upcoming 12 month anniversary of TTC. Feeling *completely* over it at the moment IYKWIM. On the topic of unhelpful and hurtful comments....a close friend told me yesterday that all I needed to do was 'relax and get shagging and it will happen' because that's how all of her other friends got pregnant after having problems TTC. So THAT's what we've been doing wrong for the last 11 months. Here I was thinking that it had something to do with PCOS and not being able to ovulate without medical intervention!

Sorry to hear about everyone else's experiences with unhelpful comments. Here's hoping we've got them out of the way for January at least
Hoping that 2013 is a wonderful year for all of us!
