    Default Do initials really matter?

I think Bronte Jane is a beautiful name and wouldn't be concerned about the initials. DD3 has those initials and not one person has ever said anything about the initials. We did it on purpose so she could be nicknamed BJ if she wanted later in life!!

It depends on what the initials are, but I wouldn't choose BJ - for obvious reasons.

Kids definitely do notice initials and middle names, and that's a very obvious taunt for kids to latch on to - and not a very nice one.

I'd probably either go for a different middle name, or else insert an extra middle name between the B and the J. (E.g., Bronte Alice Jane...)

I was very aware of initials when picking DS's name and will be for this next bub. Don't want to take any chances. I definitely wouldn't use BJ.

When trying to pick DDs name we noticed that her surname created some funny combos. Ie FKR, SKR so we chose a first name that would not risk her being called something like f@$#er.

However I don't think BJ is any cause for teasing. I know a few BJs and certainly don't think of it that way.

My sister is Bianca Jay and BJ is a family nickname - she always got called Bianca or Bee at school, so it has never been a problem.

I'd be more concerned about initials if there's a vowel in the middle which could potentially make a word - e.g Diane Olivia Green becomes DOG.

I have no idea what BJ means!? There is a child at my school called BJ and he doesn't get teased at all.
