    Default Do initials really matter?

    Hi lovelies,

I really like the name Bronte Jane, but DH thinks there will be lots of BJ jokes at her expense..... What are your thoughts?
Any other middle name suggestions? I'm struggling! ( Last name Kirton. )

I doubt it. Most people prone to teasing (eg kids at school) will know her by her first and surnames, middle initial won't matter.

Lol took me a while to realize what bj was. Are kids at school going to know what bj is? I knew a guy called bj who was never teased about it.
I also would be more concerned with first and surnames.

I think if it was bronte and the last name started with a j I would say yes it could matter....but at school you don't really use your middle name so it's more unlikely to be an issue.

I went to school with a kid called "Brendan Junior" and his last name started with J and didn't even know that was his name as EVERYONE called him BJ and I never heard a joke made about his initials. That was in primary school though, maybe high school will be different...

No. I don't think they matter at all.

In fact, I think it's odd when people get hung up about it. I never, EVER think about people's initials.

They don't matter to me. I think worrying about teasing is more of a problem than the teasing it self sometimes.

I once worked with a kid who was Barry Junior and always called BJ. Never a problem because he didn't care.

Bronte Jane is a beautiful name.

We have been thinking about this a lot... middle names I think are fine. I like the nick name of BJ and I think if there where to get any trouble it would be in high school. Having said that, a girl I went to school with had those initials with her surname and no one teased her. (she was in the cool group though )

The names we are thinking of will have the initials of B S

Sorry to hijack, but do you think that will be a prob?
