Default Bad pain in the ribs.

I have been told that it is normal to get rib aches during pregnancy but how painful should it be? I am in so much pain today it seriously feel like baby has latched on to my rib and its about to snap am I supposed to get it checked if it becomes too painful? Thanks xx

No idea... I get muscle pains around my ribs on the right side that sometimes are so bad it burns to have anything touching that area... My Dr said its normal...

I have heard of women getting their ribs broken by bub whilst pregnant too... Dunno how common it is though. Maybe just ask your ob at your next visit and see if panadol and heat/ice works in the mean time (I know heat eases my pain)

    Hope this helps

Thanks for your help. I have an appointment next Wednesday so I will try and hang on until then. I have read that ribs expand a little to make room for the baby I'm hoping that's all it is, I don't like the sound of broken ribs

Default Bad pain in the ribs.

I used to get such sharp pains it took my breath away, and I couldn't breath (like a really, really bad stitch pain)

All normal according to my midwife

I get pain several days a week on my lower right ribs, it's strong enough I want to cry! Sometimes loosening my bra or trying to push bub away from the area helps, sometimes not. I had the same thing when preg with my DD though, so at least I know it's only a matter of time before it's over.
