ETA girls were 18 months old when we got together and as far as they are concerned he is Dad.

I don't trust online people. My ex is one of those typical online gamers who lies about himself online so I don't trust anyone.

Seriously??! So sometimes the movies are right

Sadly I don't see how or when I'll ever get the chance to go. I have no single friends (sounds lame but its true) and my married ones aren't in to that. We've never been the 'party crowd'.

yeah, you def need some online dating "rules" lol

    For me....it was:

a few emails before meeting...sounds silly but i looked for good grammar and spelling and nice way with words. Made sure they were not overly full on right away...ie nothing 2 se*ual.

1 hour first date...somewhere public, coffee type date. Usually no alcohol.

I would see how "available" they were...one guy seemed nice but rescheduled 3 or 4 times....and i just could not be bothered chasing him.

Pictures often say a lot...see how close they are to their pic...one guy i met had lied about his age....and his picture was about 15 years before lol

And, like I said...get to know them...but don't believe everything or get too attached until you meet. There are douche bags everywhere...so, just as you would not sit in a pub and believe every single guy that walked up to you was 100% honest...same for internet.

Wait a while before letting them meet the kids...mine was 3 months after meeting them....but I had access to babysitters. A few times DH came over after DS was in bed and I was OK with that once I knew him well enough. But, meeting DS meant things were serious.

Wait till you feel good about you...you desperate friend is a good reminder for you on that.

And mostly... you are enough as you are. Your kids are a bonus and anyone that does not see that is not for you. Make no compromises on what you feel is right and wrong....if he is the right guy he will understand and respect you for being true to yourself.

Don't sell yourself short by saying you can't imagine a man taking on the commitment of kids

Your ex obviously found you to be rather ravishing as will someone else, with or without kids

Think of it as an adventure, you'll likely meet some interesting people, I think it sounds exciting for when your ready to get started!!!

As for your ex changing his mind once he sees you with someone else, everyone/everything that you tossed away always looks exciting when someone else starts playing with it!

Doesn't have to be a 'party crowd'. I met mine on a Thursday night lol. You don't have to go out with single friends, even just suggesting a few drinks at the pub with your married gfs for a catch up :-)

Agree. Most of my friends are in relationships and i go out with them otherwise i would never get a chance to go out as i dont have many single girl friends. I have met loads of awesome people while out. We always have a blast. Just waiting on our next night out in a few weeks time.
