Default Where did you meet your new partner?

My sisters and I were talking today about my crappy situation (most of you know, DH left suddenly when I was 17wks pregnant and had a 13mth old). People still can't believe he has done this to us without an explanation.

They were saying how it will be interesting to see his reaction when I meet someone else and am happy again - another man seeing his kids more than he does, potentially having a bigger influence etc

It got us talking about how I would even find a new partner who would take on a single mum with 2 very young boys. I just can't fathom any guy wanting that commitment! Not that I'm ready yet anyway, being 28wks pregnant....

But I'm curious - how did you all meet someone new? Online, pub, work, friends etc My circle of friends are all married and/or live interstate. I don't/won't have the time, desire or friends to go clubbing.

So how will I ever find a guy? How long did it take you?

I had two young boys :-) met DP at a pub one night, I was out for a drink with a gf. The rest, as they say, is history lol.

He's 3 years younger than me and childless yet he's fantastic with the boys and so damn good to me :-)

rsvp...you have to tread carefully and don't believe all you read when just writing to each other...reserve judgement till you meet.

my DS was 18 months whn we met.

Default Where did you meet your new partner?

I met my husband at a concert of our favorite band, we just happened to stand next to each other and then started talking afterwards. I was scared to tell him I had a young daughter and it took me a few days to tell him and when I told him he thought even more of me and couldn't wait to meet her!
There are good guys out there, and when you are ready it will happen (as lame as that sounds!) I dated a few douchebags before meeting him (one thought I was desperate and should be thankful that he would be with me because I was a single mum!) but when I was finally happy with myself and wasn't looking for anything it just happened!

Saw each other across the bar and it was love at first sight!

Default Where did you meet your new partner?

I'm interested in those that have had success with online dating.

My only experience is via my BFF and she has a new guy nearly every week - sleeps with them all, has the most amusing stories to tell and wonders why they don't work out One even ended up on Today Tonight as a con man who had 5-6 women on the go, my BFF included. He gave her a fake engagement ring and got $20k out of her - but she's desperate.

I know there would be plenty of better stories out there, so am keen for reassurance that this is a serious road to travel one day!
