    Default Weird food aversion: water

I had a water aversion through both of my pregnancies. Before DD1 I loved it, I was never without my water bottle.

Water has never been the same since. I can and do drink it, but I don't love it like I used to

Avocado! It was the only thing - I couldn't look at pictures of it, see it on tv, walk past it in the shops. Even now when I think about it it makes me feel queasy. Thankfully I've been able to eat it (if i don't think about it) since having DS 4.5 months ago.

I can't do warm water either :-( But we have ice/water built into our fridge so I have been constantly having icy icy cold water. Can you stomach coconut water? Or hydrolite icypoles?

Same here, I miss my love of water, it made me feel so healthy.

After being hospitalised with severe dehydration several times throughout both pregs, my doc told me to give up on water and just drink ice cold Gatorade. Worked really well for me. Water I would vomit straight up, couldn't drink it if I tried, but the sugars and salts in Gatorade somehow made it stay down. I prefer orange.

Good luck, it's the one aversion you really don't want.

Yep I'm the same, really struggling to drink any. I've managed to drink maybe a litre of it each day for the past couple of days, but there was a stage where even the icy cold stuff was making me gag. I bought some of the hydrolite icy poles, but they taste like poo!

I actually ended up going into hospital because of a kidney problem, probably from not drinking enough water, and was on a drip of 100ml of saline solution an hour, which fixed my dehydration.

Oh and I don't think my baby likes chocolate!!! :what:

Yep week 17 here and still can't stomach water the same as pre pregnancy. Anything I drink has to be ice cold, but water especially. Pre pregnancy I drank 2.5-3L a day now I'm lucky to drink 1-1.5L a day.

Glad to know its not just me! Will def throw some ice cubes into the mix and if all else fails I'll try Gatorade.
