Lizzy, I've seen Lynn twice & although I can see that she does move fast in an appointment, I didn't feel put off by it. I'm a nurse & deal with specialist doctors everyday so I suppose I don't find it negative necessarily. Most specialists move pretty swiftly & often can seem like they don't have a very good bedside manner. But other than the fact that she does move quickly thru the info she's giving, i still found her manner to be lovely- & she happily answered any questions. She even made a few light hearted jokes to my partner about his results (which were good). on my 2nd appt with her I mentioned I was nervous about egg transfer bcos I had a really awful & painful HSG. And she said, 'right, lets do a mock transfer then' and took me into another room & popped a catheter tube into my uterus!!! I was really impressed by that. She could've dismissed my concern, she had a waiting room full of people- but she didn't.

I wish I could tell you what protocol that is but she spoke really fast so I didn't take it all in, although it seemed to make sense at the time! I think it is antagonist with a few extras! She also mentioned taking a new drug which was an injectable that would cost an extra $1000 but is supposed to improve egg quality. Again I can't remember the name of it but have asked the receptionist to let me know. I had it all written down on the info she gave me but I had to leave that with the receptionist to give to the nurse. I should mention that this was because the nurse herself was too busy to see me, even though I said I was willing to wait. I was a bit frustrated by this given I had left 2 messages today for the same nurse, neither message has been returned and I still haven't a response to the email I sent her last Wednesday either. I understand Lynn has 3 different nurses she works with so if someone could recommend theirs that would be great. I'm not impressed with mine at all. Given the nurses are the primary contact I would like a bit better service than I'm currently not receiving! At this stage I can't help but think I have had better service at McDonalds and I don't spend thousands of dollars there!
I have the same nurse, I haven't met her but have heard good things about her. On the 2 occasions I've called & left a message she has called back within the hour. Today I called and left her a message at 3.49pm & she called back at 4.12pm. Both times I've called after 3pm.. So maybe your really just having very bad luck??? Very frustrating I know. The nurses do seem to be very busy thru the day which is why I've called later in the day- seems to have worked.

Id try again tomoro. Or even call the main number & explain that you haven't heard back from ur nurse, see if they can pass on a message?

Congratulations emski72 !!!!! What wonderful news. It must be such a relief for you. I have so much more hope now that it's possible for me too after Riss78 and your good news recently.

Seahorse1 - I'm so sorry to hear about your m/c. It's heartbreaking, especially after all that it invested getting to the 10 week stage...but hang in there. Sounds like you're making some progress with your journey.

williteverhappen - My appointment with Lynn went well. I've seen her before (a couple of months ago) and she asked me to start taking Vit E and melatonin. We were then waiting for me to have laparoscopic surgery (already planned with my obstetrician and FS at MIVF) and then we decided to take a little break before starting with Lynn. We will be starting soon with gonal F and menopur. We'll also be doing PGD testing because of my previous experience.

    Good luck everyone!

Thanks juniper! I know what u mean I'm a nurse too so I know all about docs talking a mile a minute & moving very quickly.
Here's hoping this transfer works & I don't need to see lynn.

Thanks Juniper. She ended up calling me today and I think we have sorted it out. I told her we left feeling dismissed, ignored and unimportant which didn't really help when my DH was already feeling a bit apprehensive about changing clinics. She stood her ground that she was just too busy, which I don't accept given all we were asking was for 5 minutes, but she ended up apologising. I don't know how sincere it was, sounded a little obligatory but I'll give her another go and will see how she is when we meet her later in next month to go over what our cycle is going to involve. She agreed that it was an extremely complicated and involved cycle with a number of different meds (lots I've never taken) so I don't feel quite so stupid now for not remembering! Who else will be cycling with me in January?

And how are all our lovely ladies with the BFPs travelling?

That's great brokenheart. Who is your FS at MIVF? I'm also going to be on menopur next cycle and she put me on melatonin too. She also put both hubby and I on Vit E. I've never taken that before so not sure what to expect, I'll have to read up on it. When do you plan to start cycling? I probably would have started in December but thought sod it, I'm having a drink over Christmas and NYE!

It was definitely growth hormone Em but saizen may also be in the mix! Is that also expensive and an add-on cost? Btw, I love your new signature :-)

Something I like about Lynn is that you can call her & leave a message for her to return your call... I find you get to have a good chat with her after hours when things are not so crazy! She's called me at 8pm to discuss my cycle or BFN... And to suggest new things!
