    Default Sex and labor?

    Hi!

I've been reading a lot of women suggest that having sex can help bring on labor early, as semen helps thin out the cervix.

My question is, my partner and I have been DTD at least 2 times a day throughout the entire pregnancy anyway, so will this make a difference?

I am due on Jan 20th, and do not want baby to come too early before it's safe and he is ready, I am 35 weeks + at the moment, though I wouldn't mind if he arrives at 37 weeks when I am full term.

Has anyone actually gone into labor from sex, and if so had you been doing it the whole time or not, and when did you go into labor?

    Thanks

    Hey hun,

Sperm don't thin the cervix, when woman have an orgasim her uterus contracts which can bring on labor, well that's the info I've read. I'm sure he will arrive when he's good and ready do I don't think you will have anything to worry about. :-)

I've been worried about this too, I am due on the 11th of Jan and do not want her to be a December baby at all, I really want her to stay put til the new year but feel bad depriving DH of intimacy knowing we can not dtd for an unknown amount of time after DD'S birth!!!

Sex won't bring on labour unless your body is already ready. We dtd like rabbits with 2 of our 3 pregnancies and it never caused me to go into labour. Third one I went into labour immediately after but even the midwives said my body was more then ready to start with

Hmmm the only thing that makes me think I could be close is the period type pain and back cramps! Other than that I don't think she has dropped or engaged I think she is starting to enter the pelvis now!

Thank you OP for posting this and thank you everyone else for sharing your knowledge
