    Default Plant Care

    Hi guys,
I'm growing tomato, capsicum, carrot, spring onion, chilli, orange and guava at the moment along with a few herbs.

I'm very new to veggie/fruit and herb gardening though..

I have planted all veggies, fruit and herbs with a mixture of blood and bone with average potting mix/soil.

I watered everything yesterday with some seasol (30ml to 9 ltrs water) and it says on the bottle that I should do this every 2 weeks.

Aside from this, is there anything else I need to do to help my plants and trees bare healthy fruit and stay in good condition?

    TIA

I haven't ever used that particular soil mixture, and I haven't had great result with seesol, but a lot of people have!

Remember to pinch off "suckers" from your tomatoes regularly. These are the little stems/leaves that start growing at the "y" of existing stems. Just pinch them off as you see them to avoid them zapping energy from the main plant.

Try to water at the base and avoid getting foliage too wet when possible. This decreases likelihood of disease. Water early in the a.m.

Support your plants if they are leaning.

Thanks Toonzie! I didn't know about pinching off the little leaves, i'll keep an eye out for them! Thanks!

I've also planted lettuce (a type where you can just pick the leaves as you need them) and it is growing much better than i anticipated! Such a great feeling when you see it growing!
