I had gd too and it wasn't that bad for me. Had to go to diabetes class and was quite amazed but what I learnt there and how some foods I thought would be good was actually crap for sugar levels and vice versa! I actually lost 2kg being on diet control - was quite impressed!

Thanks MrsSimmo I'm a little confused what to eat, they said cut back on Carbs but I hardly eat Bread or Pasta. I mainly eat fruit, so I'm not sure how much fruit to eat or what fruits are bad to eat?

They said to exercise, which i can't do much of as i have Placenta Previa. Do they tell you to exercise because they assume your overweight? I don't think I can afford to lose any weight.

Just a little confused, wish they had more time to talk to me. A bad day to be told at 4.00 before they leave for Christmas Eve they really didn't tell me a lot if information.

Km - a quick one again.. Sorry, family here!!
Fruit - berries are safe and great. Avoid banana
Pasta and rice - I got told 1/3 cup and try to make it brown rice (I can't do pasta)
Meat, salad and veg are great and you can eat lots of them!
    Snacks - around 20grams carb
    Meals - around 35grams carb
Don't worry yourself till you talk to your dr.. Im no way an expert.. Really want to help you if I can though!
Second time round I know much more.
Am on insulin 4 times a day and learning lots more each day!!
Dont buy anything till you get an NDSS card, will save you a fortune!!!!
