My DD1 is almost 4 and proving to be a real challenge and its breaking my heart. I feel like I have lost my DD1. It's an unimaginable grief I can't explain. My little girl has gone. It seems she's never going to come back. The tantrums , screams, bad behaviour and endless bad behaviour is killing me. I can't get her to go to sleep before 10pm since the new baby arrived, she jumps and clambers all over me whilst I'm feeding (despite having a breast feeding box which has new toys in for her to play it while I'm feeding), she refuses to do anything I ask her to d. I've instigated a rewards chart with stickers and that's not working. I'm exhausted from my DD1 not the baby. I don't know what to do, and the hardest part is the grief as I feel like I've lost my daughter. Where has my little girl gone.? Everyone says that a bigger age gap is better as they are more independent but I think it's harder. My DD1 refuses to go to prchoool, cries and screams all the way to preschool, tantrums adm she screams so loudly and with such anger and terror that I just cry. It absolutely breaks my heart. What have I done? We tried so hard to have this baby but in doing so I've lost my first child.... I'm resorting to putting her in her room all the time. I try to reward the good behaviour and not the bad, but I feel like I need jo frost super nanny. I'm really surprised that no ne has called docs my DD1 screams so much.

If there's another mum out here with to been their second child please give me some tips.....I'm so upset and grief stricken.....
My sisters child did this when the new baby came it was hard and heartbreaking. My sister tried to give her as much one on one attention as possible, new toys, rewards etc didn't work as she just needed constant affirmation from my sister that she was still loved. Can you take her out of preschool for a while? I guess it's when you get a break but perhaps she will feel more abandoned? My sister avoided her being looked after by anyone else and eventually she went back to normal. You daughter will return x

So waters broke around 9pm so frantically crammed my nesting in the half an hour before I came into hospital ( cleaned both toilets, our shower and basin, did a load of washing, made up Williams bed, emptied the rubbish did the dishes and most importantly my shaving). Was confirmed that waters had broke so had to get a cannula and start antibiotics for gsb ( most uncomfortable big needle in my hand).

Had contractions that got a bit stronger round 3.30 so hoped in the shower for a bit. Thought I would give the bath a go at about 6 am which didn't do much for the contractions but was great in between relief.

Really thought I had to poo but just enjoyed sitting on the loo for a bit ( took the pressure off my tail bone). Cause my waters had broke and cause of the gsb they said if they examined me I would have to stay on the monitor for the rest of the labour so they were holding out as long as possible. Just before 6.30 I said I really feel like pooing ( and know that this is a sign so go the midwife to check me ) I was hurrying her up to get her gloves on and with a surprised look she said can I give a little push so she could feel how far and was very shocked to feel so much of his head.

Well then did she rush cause after one real push with a bit of panting in the middle our gorgeous William Geoffrey was born at 6.33am weighing 6pd 9 and 50cm long.

Only have grade 1 tear this time so feeling awesome there. He feed like a champ first go ( which I was a bit nervous about) and has been asleep since. Omg never remembered the burn feeling as they come out , this time it felt like I was burning all the way down my legs to the tips of my toes. Lucky pushing is the shortest part.

Sorry for the essay but I wanted to write it down so I can read back on this too.

Oh and he has the biggest feet so I keep calling him flipper he he he.
Congratulations Dragonfly! Glad everything went so smoothly... Your little man is beautiful!

Wow gampa, I don't know what to say or have any advise. I take my hat off to you mums with more than one bub. I don't know how you do it, especially with a toddler who's world has been turned upside down with a new arrival. Im sure it gets better but going thru ghe motions sound so hard. Just sending hugs and I hope today is better.
