Hey KM - I'm definately going to come and visit if everything goes to plan next week! I really feel for you having I have been in there that long, especially with all the room sharing issues. You would think they would try and avoid a newborn going in with you for now. Not much longer now though so try hang in there!

SL - one of my friends was nearly 40 weeks and had no sign of being close at her last dr appt then went into labour early the next day so you just never know!!

Nic - the other ladies are spot on with you being the main caregiver still and hubby brin able to claim the 2 weeks leave still, he just needs to have earnt uner the 150k last year and worked 10 of the 13 months before bubs arrives I'm pretty sure.

Does anyone know usually how many people teu allow you to have in the delivery rom with you provided everything is straight forward?

Crafty thanks for the advice I called centrelink and they said I'm still the primary caregiver. I assume the same would also apply to my work policy...anyway hubby will be looking for work or working...there are a few things in the pipeline!

My work policy has the definition of if I am the principle caregiver then I am the primary caregiver...yeh like that clears it up!

I'm just gonna play on with the work one.

Crafty I'm hoping I will go into labour naturally as I don't like the thought of induction so we will play it by ear. DH and I went for a 3km walk on Saturday and I think bubs came down further on Saturday night so a few more walks should do it!!

No idea at all either about the amount of people in the delivery room - I am assuming it will be me, DH, the obstetrician and however many midwives....no idea!!!

Ideally we would like my husband and both of our mums in there, I'm just not sure of they limit it to DH and maybe one other. And of course, I keep forgetting to ask at every appt!!

It's your birth, you should be 'allowed' to have whoever you want there - within reason of course. I think 3-4 others would be fine...?
