Default Day Care places when returning from PPL - your experiences!

As the title suggests, for you mums and dads who went on parental leave for a period of time and your children were previously attending day care, what did you do to ensure yourself a place when you returned to work?I'm taking 5.5 months off, currently we have 2 boys attending day care and when I return we'll have 3 boys attending day care ages 3.5, 2.5 and 6 months (on my return date)... I love our day care, but am scared we won't get a place for all three when I return. I'm not wanting to send them whilst I'm on leave because I want to spend all my time with them whilst it's there... Our centre said they don't have a policy for "holding a place" and my only option would be to send them 1 day per week and hope they can reorganise their rooms to accommodate them full time when I return. But, that 1 day for the two older ones seems like such a waste of money, especially since you get no CCR when on PPL (correct me if I'm wrong here...) and we're not eligible for CCB.We're city central in Perth and places seem few and far between... 1 place is hard enough to find, let alone 3 at the one centre and ill be darned if I'm going to spend my mornings driving to multiple ones...I've spent some time applying for waitlists for September next year but I have this sick feeling in my stomach that we're not going to have a centre to send them to, let alone one we like and I have to go back to pay the mortgage! Eeeeek I want to vomit now haha...What were your experiences?

We kept DD1s place by continuing to send her whilst on mat leave.

Ooooooh you do? Interesting. I might just do the 1 day a week then and cross my fingers, toes and everything else for that matter. I really had no idea about that, so thank you

Yeh you still get the rebate when your on leave. I get my older boy going while I was on leave as it ment that I had more time to spend with bub. This stopped the older one from going stir crazy and jealous, with not a lot of attention on him. Personally, I would send them al least 1 day a week.
