Default Upper Age limit for child attending day care???

My children go to a child care centre that has before & after school care + vacation care.

My main question though, is there an upper age limit on what child can attend before & after school care & vacation care? The reason is there is a 13yr old child that attends and mixes with the kindergarten kids (4&5yr olds).

The 13yr old is pure trouble. Teaches the 4-5yrs old not to listen to teachers/parents. Manipulates them to do naughty things yet all the kids love her & do what she encourages them to do.

I've told my child not to play with her or talk to her & she still can get him engaging with her.

She comes from a very manipulative family, it's like second nature to them.

How do I get my child to steer clear of her & or how do I get her to go to something more age appropriate for her? There is plenty of school age care around.

Have you talked to the centre?
That does seem odd to me to have a 13 year old if there aren't other students her age there?

I think most centres stop b&a for non-primary school aged children.

Personally, this is not going to be the first and only time your child comes in contact with manipulative people, a.k.a. peer pressure. I would work on teaching my child to stear clear of that, going with their gut feeling and if it doesn't feel right than don't do it, or ask someone first.

I thought the limit was 12.
Definitely say something to the centre not about the girls age but about we behavior and it affecting your child.

We are working on the peer pressure stuff with him - and he is usually very good. His teachers are always commenting on the fact he doesn't follow the crowd if he knows something isn't right but there is just something that draws him to this other child. I'd love to know how to fix it but it just seems I haven't found the right way yet....

Which organisation governs day care regs? Dept of Families/Communities??
