Default Christmas gifts for carers at daycare

Do you give gifts to carers at your child's daycare? I've seen people talk about giving to teachers at schools so it made me wonder if its the done thing for daycare too?

I usually just give a Christmas card but this year I'm doing a gift for ds2's room leader. She's fantastic, like Mary Poppins and the most perfect nanna rolled into one.

Anyhoo...back to topic I'm doing up a 'cookie in a jar'. Ds2 will help prepare and decorate it.

Thanks they are great with my son who can be quite spirited so I do appreciate that he makes life interesting for them! Haha. I've just made up the condensed milk cookie dough which makes heaps so I might do a tin of bikkies for them to share.

Yes. Perfume for the main one and I bought decorative bowls and filled them with chocolates for the others.

Yes I have given gifts to carers and kindy teachers at day care as well as the Director of the Centre.

Previously I have given things like Crabtree and Evelyn gift packs (with nice handcreams and a tin of their biscuits or some nice chocolates).

This year I gave them a bottle of sparkling pinot grigio each and a handmade card from DD.

How log have your LO's been going to daycare? My DS has only been part time for 2 months, so wasn't sure if it was overkill to give them a present this year?
