I gave ours a Wish giftcard (can be used at Woolies, BigW or a few other places). I figure it's a job where although you might get plenty of verbal appreciation for your work, it's not exactly the nicest thing to do (cleaning others toilets etc!) and a little bonus is well deserved

We don't have cleaner but do have a Mower Man. I gave them a gift card inside a Christmas card and wrote "Thanks for all your hard work this year, it's much appreciated. Have a Merry Christmas and a lovely break".

Back in the day it was considered the norm to "tip" service people (milk, mower, paper, rubbish man, cleaner etc etc)... I think it's lovely to give a little extra to all these people who help make our own lives easier :-)

I am currently without a cleaner () but I used to leave $50 in a card and a bunch of flowers and a bottle of wine (or a potted plant).
