[QUOTE=Lovemyfam;6962134]To get full FTB you only need to make an effort to get CS if you dont know the fathers name there isnt much they can do so they will give an exemption I know a few people who have chosen to go this route They get the full FTB.[/QUOT
maybe for some....or they can make you hire a pi to track down that one night stand and do paternity testing.....i think you will find it isnt always as straight forward as that.....

So what would you tell a PI that you met a guy about 6 feet with brown hair and you think his name is peter? I have friends who have done it and its very easy they dont want to spend a lot of time dealing with it. 1 girl didnt even have to go in just fax the birth certificates into CSA with no name on it and tell them she didnt know his last name hasnt had contact since that night and they called centrelink with her on the phone and gave an exemption.

also on the zero income can mean 0 cs assesment....im not sure how often that works....my ex tried it....his wife had a business in her name only.....so technically he had no income...he was made to pay on his "potential to earn" . there are people who get around the child support issue but it usually involves lying or domestic violence....i have seen many different outcomes for cl/csa. i do know for a fact though that the father does not need to be on birth certificate. he only needs to acknowlege paternity or proven to be the father. i have recieved child support for 3 years and my daughter has my last name and father is blank.

I believe it's something like - you have to name three people as the possible father. They DNA test all three of them. Highly humiliating.

well my sister was in that sitution for real. she was made to get a private investigator and go back to where they met many times to try and find him. as i have said, not everyone goes through this stuff but some sure do. it isnt always just i dont know any details so i cant claim. you may know people who it has worked for and i do as well. But i also know many who it has not worked for. not just my sister but also 2 friends who now live on minimal money as they said they dont know and wont change that because they dont want the father around. it really isnt clear cut

also lmf...faxing it to csa wont do anything. they are linked for assesment but csa cant give exemptions.....centrelink need to. and the exemptions are getting less and less common due to so many women lying.

They take the partners income into account now. My DP's CS just went up because we have been living together for over 6 mnths so are now counted as defacto ergo my income now counts.

What?? So my DH's and his ex's new partner's wage is taken into consideration with child support? Is that what you mean?
Because if you do, that's completely incorrect. My DH could earn 10 million dollars and my ex still has to pay the set amount based on his wage.
His "circumstances" are taken into account, not your wage.
