wow deb very insightful. Replies like this make me very grateful for the hub! So when you use the prefolds on their own do you get leak through's then? Thanks so much for your reply, much appreciated.

On another note, I hot washed the nappies without any detergent and hung them in the sun for 2 days. Have tried bub in them again, no rash as yet but it probably hasn't been long enough. See how we go...

Yes, when you use the prefolds without a cover (using a snappi or pins to fasten them) yes they would eventually leak as they are only cotton but I found they hold things in well enough if you, like me, like to change bub after every pee/poop... (except at night). Also, using just the prefolds, gives bub's bum a break from PUL/plastic.

Sarelou perhaps you could try wool covers over the prefolds rather than pul?

Our little girl has server excma and we can only use cotton or bamboo o. Her otherwise it flairs up the excma, also make sure the clothes are all cotton too, it helps.

An update - cold rinse, then hot wash with no detergents and hung in the sun is working! I am still using the covers. Not a single sign of rash. Thanks to everyone who replied!

Sarelou have you ever tried soap nuts? Of course no detergent is fine but if you were after something these could be an option as they are 100% natural

I know you can get a sample of soap nuts but its still exp. I haven't tryed it because of the price of the sample and having already spent $40-60 on samples for nappies that haven't worked for ezcma.
