Thanks Wedgie so sorry again about your loss, I guess I am lucky with my dr and thought all drs were as thorough as him, in my opinion with identical twins perhpa there needs to be specific drs you have to go to that arespecialistsasthere are just so many risks!!!!

Leas, I totally agree. I suppose in different countries identical twins are far and few between. In my event I choose to go with the best hospital and monitoring and my pregnancy still fell through the gaps. It is sad that in this day in age with technology and specialist doctors that you have to research things yourself on google.
All the best with your upcoming arrival, Leas

    Hi Ladies,
I have been trying to get on here to update you about my amnio, but haven't been able to get on on my iPad ... finally have a few mins in front of the pc before going to pick up ds

So amnio was booked for the 22nd last month. Flew down, went to the appointment and the radiologist came in and was looking at the images on screen. He basically told dh and I that he didn't know why I was referred for amnio after seeing the babies. Dh and I freaked at first, misunderstanding what he meant.
So after a long chat with the radiologist and a separate chat with dh, we decided not to go ahead with the amnio. The radiologist said that with Trisomy 18, 80% of pregnancies will self terminate before 12 weeks. Of the remaining 20%, 90% will show obvious deformity on ultrasound between 12-16weeks. That percentage improves to 99% from 16-20 weeks.
So all in all good news. Dh is still worried, after all, he thought we were going in for a test and would get the result in facts and figures. he's that kinda person. He just has to trust our OB and this radiologist that everything is looking well.

We have another appointment with our OB and radiologist on May 23rd, just to double check all is still well, and for our anatomy scan.

But the most exciting news out of all this is that were are expecting identical girls!

Jess - i hope that your little bundles have arrived safely

    sorry for the long post.
    Hope everyone is well

MrsW : thats great news are you feeling confident in not having the amino?

Our girls arrived on the 23rd of april Lauren Grace and Hayley Mia were all home now and settling in quite well. Its quite hectic with two babies but totally worth it!

That's good news mrswatto and yay for 2 girls!!

Jess how exciting in the arrival of your girls...we're they early? How was your experience with the birth? I'm starting to get a bit scared about it all as twins are completely new to us and our families

Oooh, congratulations Jess!! Fantastic news and I will read your story when I get a chance. Lots of girls, with yours too MrsWatto. I'm having identical girls too. I'm now nearly 28 weeks so hopefully 10 weeks from birth, can't wait!! Good luck to all.
