Default Practical Gift Ideas for Newborn

So three of my closest friends are pregnant and due in February, April and May.
I'm looking for practical gift ideas. For my friend in February she has already had a baby showed but I had just had my LO in hospital 3 days prior so couldn't attend.
Having received countless amounts of clothing, teddy bears and toys, I was hoping to gain some inspiration what to buy. I plan to make up little packs with items I've found of great use such as:
    - infants friend
    - fess nasal saline and sucker thing
    - burp cloths/bibs etc
    - quality thermometer

I also will do a feel good pack for all the mums including body lotions etc as the mummy's are usually forgotten about when bub arrives.

What are items if practical use that I should include? Some are breast feeding and some formula fed, some disposable nappies and other MCN.

    Thanks in Advance

That's a great idea, I would of loved practical stiff. I got so many toys & a heap of clothes that DS will never get to wear.

Could u also include baby bath stuff, moisturizers, cotton tips, baby sunscreen, bath thermometer.

Woman's Weekly Cake Cookbook, and a box of nappies in crawler size, because I only noticed the infant ones were too small when they didn't fit, lol

I second the love to dream swaddle and women's weakly cake book. Also some really nice nappy cream like moo goo or Weleda from the health food shop. A Sophie the giraffe is also a great present.
