Well I've worked in the smash repair industry as a secretary. I ran an automotive paint shop. I was a sales rep and visited many many smash repairers and you only had to look at their lunch room walls and lockers to know that they were into porn. I've been in gaming. Very male dominated and porn was openly discussed. Let's see what else? I was a PA for an interior designer (all male architects and cabinetmakers) and all of them openly discussed porn. I currently work in the aerospace field (all men) and they all discuss porn like i'm not even there! Sheesh I could go on and on.

Ok thanks. I'll be sure to cross them off places I'll ever work. Regardless of my private views on pron I would be really uncomfortable working in an environment where it was so openly discussed (particularly if I was the only woman).

Mine issue is the pron industry itself
    Thanks for articulating this.

The opposite could in fact be said, that it's women with low self esteem that 'allow' their partners to watch p0rn, but I wouldn't say that because at best it's speculative and at worst it's a massive generalisation.

It always helps to have different opinions and to see how others do it. It may open her mind to a new way of thinking. It may not. You can't say this thread has been unhelpful though. I would be glad for all of the information on this thread. I had the exact same thing happen to me when I first got together with my DH and I wish I had had all this information to read through before making a decision. I can only hope that the OP finds something that resonates within her in all these posts.
But I think sometimes that is the problem people feel strongly about something then other say you need to open your mind and as a result we start accepting things to be ok that we wouldn't have. I mean it would just be telling you how I see something and saying maybe you need to close your mind a little bit. Like I said we are all entitled to an opinion just sometimes the way an opinion is presented can be more this fact rather than this is how I see it. It just seems to me this was a real issue for a person and we've turned it in justifying our life choices and trying to belittle other people's beliefs and relationships. At the end of the day if it works for you great if it doesn't then change the situation( and I'm not saying get divorced). I just think its a shame when people get hurt by what others do and because they listen to other people's "opinions" they change who they are become numb to what hurt and then eventually accept it as the norm. Oh well I guess that's how life works anyways really sorry for what your going through OP I wish you every success in resolving the issue and hope that you can find some peace and get back to awaiting the arrival of your beautiful baby...

I've also worked in a male dominated industry and all the guys talk openly about porn. Like I said, I haven't come across a guy who doesn't like it.

This thread will go on forever.

How about we all agree to disagree???

You've obviously never studied logic! Logical equations are not subjective; they are as easy to prove or disprove as mathematical equations.

Honestly you get used to it. It's not a big deal. i work with mainly engineers and aeroplane technicians and if I got offended every time someone at work mentioned s*x/porn I'd be spending the whole day upset. Wateer off a ducks back.
