Default Short holiday in Sydney with a 9mth old - advise please!!

We are thinking about doing a short holiday (say around 4 nights) to have a look around Sydney in mid January. We will be flying down and not hiring a car so only using public transport.

Im just wondering what the best option is to get from the airport to our hotel with a baby?
Is it difficult to use the airport link then get off at Town Hall station?

Or if the best option is by Taxi, should I bring along our carseat or will the taxi company have one we can request?

Also im looking at staying at Darling Harbour as it appears to be a good base for getting around the usual sights (Circular Quay, aquarium, The Rocks, Sydney Eye)

Any recommendations on a hotel or appartments (around 4 star)?

    Thanks

Sydney is one of the few cities where you can order and at the airport, flag) a taxi with a cars eat.

My biggest tip is to book a suite/ 1 (or more) bed apartment, as 7pm baby bedtimes do not work in a regular hotel room.

Right, so you can just ask for a taxi with a car seat at the airport and their readily available?? Im surprised! Thanks for the tip, didnt think about that on. Would be hard to even chat with a sleeping baby in the same room!

Ostensibly they are readily available, but we have found it a bit hit and miss. BUT you can prebook a taxi with a car seat. There is a prebooked pick up area.

There are quite a few hotels at DH - Novotel, Medina, Holiday Inn etc. Some are on the city side (so more Kings Wharf) and some are on the Convention Centre side (so where Star Casino is). Either way you are close to everything.
