Default Graduates of TTC and not wanting to move #2

    Hey ladies!
Need some advice - I am going to a hen's weekend in a few weeks and I will be 12 weeks then. One of the activities will be a spa treatment and I need to tell the organizers what treatments I will be getting. What can I have? I understand I can't get massages - is that a myth or true? They also do facials, manicures and pedicures - which I understood to be no no's as well, but not 100% positive. Before I google, can anyone tell me what is safe and things to stay away from?

Sorry MissX, I'm not sure what is safe

Choccie, I hope you are nice and safe up there and that cyclone isn't causing you too much grief

I think massage is fine as long as you can sit up for it. Not sure about the rest.

All of them are fine! Only sitting in an actual spa would be unsafe

Facials, pedicures and manicures are perfectly fine. It is deep tissue massage which needs to be avoided, as it releases potassium, lactic acid, and other muscle substrates, into the circulation, which the neonatal heart is not yet equipped for.
I would go for the pampering aspect...pedicure, manicure, eyebrow shape etc.
You actually can have a spa in pregnancy...there is a protective mucus plug in the cervix which protects uterine contents from the outside world. We have a spa at home...as long as you don't aim jets into your vagina, it's just a bath with bubbles!!

I'm very stoked! Basically you have to be registered for the Review Panel in your details on BH. You go through your user control panel and enter your address and select 'yes' for the panel option.
Then when they post a thread in the review panel forum you just generally say 'Pick me' or whatever they want you to say, and explain why you should be chosen. I simply said that I've had hip and back problems since 16 weeks this time (it was actually a bit earlier but I wasn't going to quibble) and that I'd love to give the pillow a try .

The only other thing that you have to have done is a few reviews already. It doesn't have to be on BH products. I'd done a few reviews on a breast pump, weight loss program, and a couple of other things. I guess they picked me because I did those reviews a while ago just because I felt like it and they decided that I deserved a shot based on the reviews I'd already done .
