MissX, if you are worried about Edward's Syndrome (very rare), ask your OBGYN to do some more Maternal Serum Screening at 15 weeks. It will give you your risk ratios for Edward's syndrome (Trisomy 18), plus a few others. May help you relax.

Default Graduates of TTC and not wanting to move #2

Thanks J - I am most likely over reacting and stressing over nothing at all - I just didn't realise how things could go so wrong and how common it is! So many stories of people losing bubs still at 12 weeks and having issues! I guess without forums, all of issues that can go wrong do seen quite rare - but being on a forum where there is a LOT of pregnant ladies, you obviously read more an it has just spun me out a bit!! I don't have lot of people around me who have been pregnant and those that have been pregnant, have generally had great babies!
The only time I have come across something going wrong is my SIL who found that bubs head and brain were not forming. I am really not sure how far along she was, but I know it was really hard on the family.
I am so lucky to have access to wonderful medical facilities, so I guess I will just stick to this thread and not venture out to far hahahaha
Thanks ladies for your support - I do feel at ease now!

I'm not worried about Edwards syndrome, but am now curious. If we got risk ratios for this with the 12 week nuchal scan, what is the purpose of doing more at 15 weeks?

I'm not specifically worried about that one, well not yet anyway. I'd love it if I could have a weekly scan, just to reassure myself that everything is ok

Quick duck in, I just realised we don't have a due dates list for the graduate group! I've snaffled the original list from the first graduates post, so if you're still floating around it'd be lovely if you can add your due dates so that we know when to get all excited *chuckle*.
If you're not on the list yet (it's an older list) just copy this post and start a new one with your name on it as well
(Hahaha I only just noticed that you put "(the veteran)" next to my name J... *chuckle*).
When the list is updated I'll see if we can get a mod to put it in the first post of the thread .
