Default Graduates of TTC and not wanting to move #2

As far as I know they are fraternal cause our first scan one was on one side and the other on the other

You mentioned sacs after your first scan, so I assumed fraternal

I have tried to post several times but it wont let me on my phone. Congrats Nila on your twins, how exciting!!!

J can I please be a pain - I just rang the surgery to ask for the screening of downs and said we had changed our minds and she said that we cant do it in esperance (where I live) I'm guessing she means the Amnio but then why wont the doc give me a 12 week scan here? What exactly is the 12 weeks scan done for? I am so so upset i burst into tears, silly man - just give me a bloody scan

The 12-week scan is standard practice in Australia, and you are entitled to one. It screens for Down's syndrome. It involves a blood test and an ultrasound, and you will be given a risk ratio for Down's.
You are entitled to one, Medicare part-pays, and if he still refuses, contact the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists for their opinion. Tell your GP you are doing that...chances are you will have your scan in no time!!
Tell your GP you feel your antenatal care is suboptimal. Has he tested for: rubella, syphilis, HIV, Hep B and C, parvovirus, iron levels, thyroid, vit D, as well as the useful electrolytes, LFTs...

k17- that really sucks. I hope doing what j says works! I know it's a small town but can you change doctors?

The results of my bloods were good and hcg now over 27,000. So I really hope there is a heartbeat tomorrow! Going on my own as it's at 4.30 the other side of town so DH has to pick up our son from childcare. I don't mind, as he'll be at 12wk one.

SageS - I drink water, but sometimes if its very hot & I'm feeling off colour I will have some Powerade. I know it has a ton of sugar, but it also has electrolytes which can give you a boost in energy levels!

button2012 - Very glad to hear the ms is better, good luck for your results.

J37 - Given you are in Melbourne you might know this. Do you know if they still charge over $100 for the 10 week NT blood test? I remember getting this bill from the Children's Hospital wondering what on earth it was for, then called them to find out & couldn't believe I had to pay for it!

Bond Girl - Best wishes for your early scan. What is the difference between the birthing centre & the suites?

AFM: Well I haven't needed to take anything for nausea today! I'm 9 weeks + 2 days, is it possible that it could be beginning to ease?! Please?! Have those of you who have taken Zofran found that you need to take it continually? Or only a few times to settle it down?
