Default Am I in labour or not?

I'm 40 + 1 weeks pregnant, and since last night have been having contractions
since 7pm.. roughly 8-12 mins apart. Now it's 5am and it's still 8 mins apart and regular but very very intense when I do get them. (i don't know if braxton hicks would go for this long and this regularly?) I have had braxton hicks before but not this painful. I am literally sweating every time I get one and it takes my breath away. Shouldn't they be getting closer tho? It's a while to be 8-12 mins apart for so long... waters haven't broken yet.

Does it actually hurt, or just feel really uncomfy?
I had really intense bh that took my breath away the day before labour. They didn't get closer together either. A middy told me if they stop while in the bath they are bh, that was true for me. Have you been able to sleep?

could be things starting to move along! waters not breaking doesnt mean it's not labour starting - sometimes they dont break till active labour! Maybe take some panadol and rest as much as you can. How are you feeling today?

I know everyone's different but I only felt what I would describe as BH until about 3-4 cm (I was in hospital at the time). The 'real' contractions were very different to my BH - the pain was very low down and similar to period pain but much stronger.

Doesn't sound like you have too much longer though, good luck!

My water never broke until pushing or where broken for me in all 6 babies. So don't stress about that. It really does sound like the real deal.
    Can you talk through them?
    Did the bath help?

Praying that you have a great birth and are holding your previous little one soon.

Default Am I in labour or not?

Sounds like what I had - mine took almost 24hrs to get closer than 5-7mins, they were painful but I could manage it pretty easily with movement. Then they suddenly went to 2-3min apart and increasingly intense and stayed like that for 17hrs before DD was finally out! My water didn't break until I was 12 hrs in to intense contractions (and was only 3cm after all that effort lol! Thank god for the epidural, it got things moving).

I hope it's the real deal and it progresses well for you
