2011 winter bill was close to $1000 but our last 2 bills were around $500, so definitely cheaper. We probably used a lot less due to doing an extension and not using heating down stairs as much, but that decrease is pretty significant!

This thread only makes sense if you look at your usage on your bills for the same period last year and compare it with this one....
Ours was almost 800 but it was an estimated bill cause the meter reader was lazy.
We arent paying till they physically come read it as we got solar panels halfway thru the quarter.
(Hubby works for power company and has checked usage and their estimate is waaayyyyyy off)
I'm in Qld and our bill has gone up considerably.
You need to look at the usage as well though (such as kilowatt hours).
NSW has been hit hardest with network charges (poles and wires, etc). Nothing to do with the carbon tax.
Ours was down from $900 to $500.
We are in QLD.
We didn't have any air con on.. Nothing like that..
We are only a family of 3 and the reason our bills are so high is because we have constant power surges (every hour)
Been onto the realestate about it for ages!
We are looking at moving now as its out of control!
In our last house our bills were only $180 and that was with the air con on for about 2-3 hour a day..
Yes its gone up. I was paying no more than $120 a quarter. For the last 2 bills, they have been $400 plus. Its beyond a joke. I am just lucky i am working to help ease the cost of the electricity atm.
Sent from my GT-I9305T using BubHub
We pay approx $150 per fortnight in power and that just covers the bill...
It has gone up since last year :-(
