Default Vent! Mums need sick days too!

    This is just a sook.......but......

DD1 has bought a cough/cold home from kindy and I came down with it 2 days ago and DD2 was up all night with a fever and runny nose. DH and I got about 2 hours of solid sleep.

I'm just quietly dying on the lounge floor trying to rest and not cough my lungs up with my two sick kids ferreting around beside me. They are coping a lot better than me.

I can't call anyone over to care for the girls as I'd be putting them at risk of catching it.

I really wish Mums got sick days!

Will your L/os watch t.v or something so you can rest?

Hugs to you, I feel your pain. I'm sick too and want nothing more to crawl into bed but DH kindly pointed out as a mum that's not a luxury I get any more.

That comes across a bit rude/mean BUT I get what he's saying. It sucks. When dp said something similar to me though I informed him that if he can get a 'man flu' (urgh!) then I can get a 'mum flu' so he better suck it up and start dinner.
I hope you get some rest during the day and start to feel better soon :-)

It's rotten isn't it? It's just a case of getting to the end of the day in whatever way is easiest. It's heaven if dh can take a day off but he can't always, like now coming up to Christmas he's really under the pump. We had gastro last week and just had to struggle through.

Hope you all feel better soon OP

Agreed. I generally save my sick leave for when DS is sick, so I often end up at work feeling like crud (before the germ brigade jump on me, there are no pregnant women here and the rest of my colleagues do exactly the same and don't mind that I do - sharing is caring).

Just remember they go to school eventually I was sick with a nasty flu bug last Thursday and still had to pick him up from school, but the day was free to sleep.
