    Default Urinating blood.

TMI but I have had some pain whilst urinating I suspected a UTI so I went down to the dr just this afternoon.

She said I have a full blown infection and told me I had blood and protein in my urine, she gave me some anti-biotics and told me to start taking them immediately and to drink as much water as I can.

I've gotten home and have gone to the toilet and my urine is now just blood!
The pain is slowly getting worse, I have a shocking headache too but no fever.

Should I now be worried about the blood? Or just take it easy and wait for these anti biotics (sorry can't spell that) to kick in?

I've never had a UTI before.
    Thanks in advance

not what I really wanted to read lol.
Huge family history with kidney stones and kidney infections, was kinda hoping of no possibility of it being either of those..
Ok I will call her and tell her what's going on now.

    Thank you Xx

    That's ok
I've been told many times that its worse than childbirth when they try to pass.. Hence why I was hoping it wasn't them, but better to be safe.
Just waiting for the dr to call me back after she finishes up with her last patient for the day.. Hopefully I don't get told to go to the hospital
But the surgery closes at 5pm.. So we will see what she says.

First time I got a UTI I didn't know what it was and ignored it (stupid teenager) ended up urinating blood and finally went to Dr. Wasn't kidney stones just infected kidneys from UTI. Antibiotics and loads of water cleared it up quite quickly so you may not need hospital (fingers crossed). Good luck

She said it now sounds like a Kidney Infection, that my headache could be the first sign of a fever coming on.
I had to run in and pick up a new script for some stronger anti biotics, to avoid caffeine and keep drinking water.
she said if the pain becomes unbearable to go to the hospital but she said I would have already been up there if it was stones as is just a pain that no one ignores.

This has relaxed me more.. I think in going to go lay down now, Dh is home and this headache is killing me!
Thank you both for your replies

She might suggest that you go to hospital for some iv antibiotics.

    Hope you're feeling better soon.
