There may be evidence but it doesnt make it OK. I also really concerns me with this 'evidence' of people using it as an excuse for racism. It's ok its my instinct. You know what no it isnt ok. Unless there is absolute unequivocal proof that every single person of whatever race is a drunk child abusing monster, it is never OK and there is never an excuse.

And yes you are correct, some types of alcohol consumption is similar between Indigenous and non-Indigenous, but the risky and high-risk stats are higher for Indigenous, and they tend to be the most problematic.

Absolutely, and I can't say I am surprised some people from a culture that has been ripped apart is having mental health/alcohol issues.

My issue is with people/media who claim that ALL or MOST Indigenous Australians drink. They are less likely to drink than non-Indigenous Australians. It's a bit misleading.

We as a society are becoming numb to the gradual erosion of our ability to make decisions for ourselves.

Furthermore, this move, which has been seen in many country towns, is for political reasons only. It does not make any difference to the consumption of alcohol or disruptive behaviour, but it gives the appearance of 'doing something'.

It also smacks of racism as this rule mostly appears in towns/suburbs with high Aboriginal populations.
    Agree 100%
