Default Stand Mixers.. KitchenAid? Or others?

    Hi guys,

I'm turning 30 in March and have asked DH for a KitchenAid Stand Mixer.

They are around $700, which I'm ok with, so long as it's worth it!

The Breville and Sunbeam equivalents are a bit cheaper, but I've never really considered them before. They always use the Sunbeam ones on MasterChef but I'm guessing that that's more to do with sponsorship than anything else.

Does anyone have a Breville, Sunbeam or KitchenAid mixer (or other) that they can give me some feedback on?

    Thanks!

I have a Breville and I adore it. I wanted a Kitchenaid but couldn't justify the expense but I have no regrets buying the Breville. In saying that, I've nothing to compare it to.

Have you thought about buying one from the States? Amazon will ship it here for around $80 but as it is only $120-180 (depending on model) postage is nothing. Then you just need a transformer (US 120v versus AU 240v) and away you go all up mine cost about $350 - so half the price. Just a thought!
    That's a bl00dy marvellous idea!

I have a KitchenAid and I love it, it is a permanent fixture on my bench, I use it every week. I have had a Sunbeam (but a few years back) and there was just no comparison.

Be careful with buying a US KitchenAid, I know two people who have done this and both have had issues (one blew up, even though she was using a transformer) and the other one just stopped working after 12 mths and there is no warranty of course

I'm getting the kitchenaid for Christmas and am soooo excited I've read lots of reviews and been looking up recipes The reviews are mostly positive and a lot of people are saying theirs have lasted for ages (one person said theirs is around 40 years old).
