Hate to say it chick, but it can get really serious. My new specialist yesterday made it very clear he won't take any chances with pregnant women with high bp. It really sounds as though you should be at home resting... you might make it worse for yourself in the long run.

    Default 1st pre eclampsia event.

Thinking I might take tomorrow off. See how I go. Been feeling off all afternoon again so I've been ordered to bed by dp. I'm meant to be going to straddie in January camping for 10days but I'm assuming that's not a great idea anymore is it?

Sorry but I would say camping is out of the question and I wouldn't be surprised if you are told you will need to finish up work and be on semi bed rest

    Default 1st pre eclampsia event.

Well I went camping and coped great apart from swollen ankles and a few episodes of vision disturbance. Got back last Wednesday and was out into hospital with high Bp 140/110 headache and vision disturbance. I was released the next morning after my Bp had gone down overnight but told to come back if I get any of the symptoms again. Problem is I get them every couple of days... I've had a headache 3 out of the last 4 days. It's behind my right eye. It's nothing crippling but just uncomfy. Got my Bp checked yesterday and it was 119/83.
Do I try and get rid of this headache and if it doesn't go away go up or just go up straight away?

Do you have a bp machine at home? If you get bad headaches with blurred vision again I'd ring your midwife to go in that day to get checked. Headaches are a symptom of pre eclampsia so I wouldn't muck around with it.

Or you could go down to your local chemist and get your bp checked and if it's high, ring the midwife.

No I don't have a Bp machine at home but I do go to the chemist if I have a bad headache and get it checked. What is considered high though- especially when you are on medication to control it?
