No. He was basically telling me there is no need as two or three days isn't enough for it to be much different so we should wait till next week.

I am seeing my doc on sat and have no doubt he will happily do repeat bloods and an early scan for me too. I wasn't going to argue with the insensitive doc who really wasn't all that helpful.

They usually only like to do it if you suspect a miscarriage of have a history of loss etc. Doesn't help to ease our concerns though hey! I was so blase last time - I did 1 hpt and got a positive and didn't think anymore of it until my 12 week scan! This was my first bub too. I know a lot more now though so doubt I will not be so complacent.
I was exactly the same with DS I don't even remember seeing the doc till I was prob 8weeks or so. Lol. Oh how the times have changed.

I guess knowledge isn't always power.. Now that I understand TTC so much more I am also super sensitive to what could go wrong. I hope once we get bloods sorted I can relax a little. I really want to enjoy this and not be worried all the time.
In saying that my SIL found out today at 10wks there is no HB and bubs stopped growing at 8wks so she is scheduled for a D&C next week. Obviously they are devastated and DH is really disappointed. He and his bro do just about everything together so he thought it quite poetic we would all be expecting within 8weeks of each other.

I had my tww monitored with progesterone. I had a blood test on 8dpo, which was negative, then I was meant to have another blood test at 12dpo, but because the 8dpo one was negative i thought i was out so i didnt bother having it done! Anyways, i stopped taking the progesterone, and started my "AF" on 13dpo. HAHA. nope. My "AF" was short and light, 4 days long, then went away for 2 days, then came back as brown light spotting, almost stained cm iykwim. All my pregnancy "symptoms" id put down to the progesterone werent going away. craving foods, smelling smells, and highly emotional. but again thought, ah just must be having a weird AF. ....

Anyways, sunday came and I was feeling a bit crampy, I was on "cycle day 9ish" so thought maybe early ovulation (i also still was spotting). I tested on a oracle OPK. The second line came up straight away, as a very dark positive opk. Thought it was a bit weird, but DTD anyways. I tested again on monday morning with another OPK. again 2nd line came up straight away, but this time darker. By this stage i was beginning to wonder. especially as my body was so weird.

So did the dash yesterday to coles on the public holiday (also Harper's 2nd birthday) and grabbed some FRER and poas on one of those (ok ive done 3 since lol) and as soon as the pee went across the screen there was a very dark test line staring at me, i had to wait for the control line to show!!!

did a digital this morning, and its pregnant 3+ so my AF was probably implantation. I honestly cannot believe it...Am just in shock, I thought for sure that my blood test at 8dpo wouldve showed a bfp if i was pregnant, but no, too early! So im 5wks 3 days preg and due 29th sept!

moral of my epic novel, dont give up & anything is possible!!!!!!
    Congratulations!!!!!

Congrats on the bfps!!! Still a couple of days in jan for a few more. I'm still utd (over 4.5 weeks now). Will do a fresh hpt on thurs before I see the gp. I'm hanging out till I can get a scan (hopefully around 7 weeks) and see a healthy heart beat. No way will I be waiting till 12 weeks this time after all the blood I lost at 10.5 weeks with the molar pregnancy. I do have an increased chance of having another molar but it's still only 1% and should show up on a scan by 7 weeks.

Grrrrrrr so the fact that hcg should double every 48-72hours is obviously a fact unknown to him *sigh*. Sounds like the muppet I saw at my local drs who said women all had dodgy hormones and should all be on the pill to make us stable...

I hope your doc is good on sat amd your bt results are nice amd strong. At least betabase is working atm too :-):-)

Congrats to all the other bfps too!! Awesome news amd fx for all those yet to test xxx

MWL - I found this too. I found out at 11dpo, and seen my GP that day, with my DS, which was actually CD28 (I o'd on CD17) and my doctor told me there was NO WAY i could be pregnant, because i hadnt even missed a period yet. I told him my LMP date and he worked it out (and he didnt even know i have long cycles. LOL) Anyway, i got out the BFP on my HPT and you should have seen him do a backflip! Before that he kept turning to DF and saying how "crazy" some women are...sort of belitteling me
His jaw literally dropped when he seen it, he turned to DF and goes "Wow, she was right! She really does know her body doesnt she!!"

He sent me for bloods then and there, said to call for results and go back in a few weeks and he would give me a referal for an early US (even wrote something about suspecting abnormal results so it was 100% bulk billed, and repeat bloods...His only request was i left the US until 10 weeks as you can see a "Baby" not just a blob. After the MC, i left it till 8.5weeks and then seen him again and got another one for the 12wk scan.

I really hope your normal doctor is a little more understanding and compassionate.

Hi girls I got a few what if questions.
if for some reason there is a miracle and I have implantation bleeding how long after do you think I should test to get a BFP and after first response I know some may not think they are reliable anymore what's the next best test besides a digital.

Is that so? I got a 3 pack of first response ready to test tomorrow. What's better to use?

I would give it 3-4 days after, to give HCG a chance to rise. You may get a BFP earlier from them though.
However with saying that, i personally would be telling myself the above while testing every time i went to the loo with an IC (internet cheapie) because i have a slight problem with POAS

I think FRER are ok, if you keep in mind that people have had faint lines recently, so test a couple of days apart with FMU and if the line is getting darker, then id say congrats are in order. Otherwise, if you dont think you could handle the possible let down, ive heard some say Pregnosis are ok?

I have my fingers crossed for you!!
