    Default Suggest me a holiday!!!

I'm at that point where I just need a good holiday!

Can anyone suggest a holiday destination/itinerary (in Aus or overseas ... although I don't really want to have to bother getting shots etc. before we go) for about a week for under $5000!

We like romantic getaways, the outdoors, history, and exploring.

    And ... go!

We went to Fiji 2 years ago for 5 nights and it was great! We got cheap flights when Virgin was having a sale for under $1000 return for both of us and our accomodation from memory was under a $1000 and that was the more expensive at the resort we stayed at as we had a beachfront hut. So you could definitely do a week on your budget no problems. We did a bit of exploring around the place and did a great tour on a boat through the islands where we went snorkelling off the island where Castaway was filmed and we also visited a village for a kava ceremony.

Definitely somewhere I would like to go again!

We just booked a holiday to kangaroo island in Jan. Catch the ferry over. Booked a apartment (modern) for two adults two kids for 2160 for 9 nights. It's called willows on the wharf. If do the street view of google maps for that address it looks amazing. Jetty straight behin the park, sea pool a few blocks up the rd.
Have kayaking booked, birds of prey and fang-tastic show. Underground caves, horse riding, penguins, dolphins etc

We just came back from our 2nd trip to Malaysia. We spent a few nights in KL then flew 1 hour to Penang island. At Penang you have george town which is a heritage listed town so lots of history there. You can hire drivers for around $10 /hr so can do lots of exploring. Our first trip we drove to langkawi which is great for hiking. We stayed out at batu ferringhi beach at a 5star shangri la resort for $140 per night including the most amazing buffet breakfast I've ever seen- that was for 2adults and 2kids. There were night markets and hawker stalls on the road at night and beautiful beach/ pools for our lazy days.No shots required- just stick to bottled water which is free in most hotels. Also flew air Asia so flights were only around $1000 for 4 of us. Good luck with your decision- so many beautiful places in the world to choose from.

Fiji is lovely, relaxing and romantic.

Singapore has interesting history and good shopping and nice weather.

U could try a cruise?... We just booked one for 11 nites on royal Caribbean out if Sydney. Goes to 6 South Pacific islands. $4000 for 2 ppl for a balcony room on the back of the ship (best room). All food and snacks and some drinks and entertainment all included. Only need $$ for alcohol, casino and sightseeing at the ports.
The cheaper rooms can b as low as $2000 for 2 ppl for that many nights. Also they have 1 week cruises.
